Product Q&A puts a row of question chips under the buy box and opens a chat with the product pinned and an Add to cart button. Every answer takes one of three paths. If the question matches one you have answered, by meaning rather than exact words, your answer is shown as written. If not, AI answers from the product’s details and its tagged customer posts, in your voice. If there is nothing to ground an answer in, it says it cannot confirm and offers questions you have answered.
Turn it on
- Create the Q&A widget. Create a collection (or open one) and choose the Conversational Q&A layout. Embed it on your product template with the product id, the same way as any product-page widget.
- Open Curated Q&A. In the layout settings, open the Curated Q&A tab. The Q&A AI settings card sits at the top; your answers sit below it.In the dashboard: Curated Q&A tab with the Q&A AI settings card at the top
- Write your key answers. Add the questions you are asked most for each product (fit, care, delivery, materials) with the answer you want shown. Pinned answers appear first as chips.
- Set AI answers. Use the AI answers switch to let AI handle questions you have not answered. Open “Voice, guardrails and limit” to describe your brand voice, add guardrails the AI must follow in every answer (for example “never promise delivery dates”), and set a daily limit.
- Draft answers in bulk. Press Bulk scan, pick up to 20 products and Idukki reads each product page and suggests Q&A drafts. Nothing is saved until you review and keep a draft. Scans count towards your daily AI limit.
The daily limit
AI answers use tokens, and the “Used today” meter shows how many of today’s allowance have gone. When the limit is reached, AI answers pause until the next day (UTC). Your curated answers keep working, and the honest fallback still offers them. Idukki sets a ceiling for the limit; ask us if you need it raised.
Scan the whole catalogue
Bulk scan covers up to 20 products while you wait. A catalogue scan runs in the background instead: pick products, or all active products (up to 500), and Idukki works through them one at a time, reading each product’s catalogue title and description and its product page, and writing up to four questions and answers per product as drafts.
- Drafts are never shown to shoppers. Each one waits in your Q&A list until you approve it, which makes it live.
- A question that repeats one the product already has, or a draft still waiting, is dropped rather than added twice.
- The scan spends from the same daily AI limit as live chat answers. When the limit is reached it stops cleanly and says so; the products it reached keep their drafts, and you can start another scan the next day for the rest.
- One catalogue scan runs at a time per store, and you can see its progress: products done, products that could not be scanned, and drafts written.
See what shoppers ask
Q&A Insights, under Analytics, shows the questions asked, which products they were asked on, and the questions that got the fallback answer. Press Answer this on an unanswered question to write the answer straight away; next time it is asked, your answer is shown. Its order tiles count orders placed after a Q&A chat, matched from your store’s order feed, and are reported on their own rather than added to widget revenue.
Common questions
- Can the AI make things up?
- It answers only from the product’s details, your answers and the product’s tagged customer posts, and follows your guardrails. When none of that covers the question it says it cannot confirm rather than guess.
- Do shoppers see which path an answer took?
- No. The path shows in your reports, not in the chat.
- Does turning AI answers off remove the widget?
- No. With AI answers off, shoppers still get your curated answers and the fallback.
- Are orders after a chat counted as Idukki revenue?
- They are reported on their own, as orders placed within 30 days of a Q&A chat by the same shopper. Some of those orders are also proven UGC orders (the shopper added the product to cart from your widget); that overlap is shown as its own number, never added on top. Only chats the widget could tie to a shopper can be followed to an order.
