How to move your Yotpo, Okendo or Loox reviews into shoppable UGC
Your reviews app already holds customer photos and videos. How to bring them into shoppable galleries, tagged to products, in one afternoon. We make Idukki.
Open your bestseller on your phone. The hero is a studio shot. Scroll past the size chart, the delivery note and the cross-sells. At the very bottom, under the stars, sit forty customer photos. That is where the proof lives, and almost nobody gets that far.

We make Idukki, so this guide uses Idukki's review import. The steps for each reviews app hold for any tool that reads them. Review import is in early access, so ask us to switch it on for your account.

Those figures come from shoppers who saw the photos. A photo at the bottom of the page is seen by fewer of them. Moving it up is the whole point of this guide.
Why the photos are stuck where they are
A reviews widget is built to show reviews. It sits under the product details, with stars, text and a few thumbnails. That is the right home for the text.
The photos and videos do a different job. They show the product on real people, in real rooms. Shoppers want that near the gallery and the buy button. A UGC gallery puts them there, each tagged to its product.
The same product page, before and after the import
Photos only in the reviews widget
- Studio shots in the hero
- Customer photos below the fold, inside the stars widget
- A thumbnail opens a lightbox with no way to buy
- Videos play only if a shopper finds them
Photos imported as tagged posts
- A shoppable gallery near the buy button
- Each photo tagged to the product it shows
- Add to cart from the post
- Your reviews widget stays for the text
What you need from each reviews app
| Reviews app | What you enter | Where it is | New reviews arrive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yotpo | App key and secret key | Yotpo, Settings, Store settings | Daily sync, or Import now |
| Okendo | Store ID | Okendo, Settings, Integrations, API | Daily sync, or Import now |
| Loox | A CSV of all reviews | Loox, Reviews, export | When you upload a newer export |
Your products should be in Idukki first. Each review is matched to a product. Idukki tries the store product id, then the SKU, then the handle. A review with no match still imports, without a product tag.
The move, step by step
From reviews app to shoppable gallery
- 01
Check products
Your catalogue is in Idukki, so reviews can be matched.
- 02
Pick the settings
Media-only reviews, and whether tagged ones go live straight away.
- 03
Connect or upload
Keys for Yotpo, a Store ID for Okendo, a CSV for Loox.
- 04
Import
Import now, or wait for the daily sync.
- 05
Check a page
Open a product page and look for its review photos.
Pick the two settings first
“Only reviews with photos or videos” is on by default. Leave it on. Text-only reviews add little to a photo gallery.
“Show tagged reviews on their product page straight away” is on by default too. A tagged review with media then appears on its product page with no collection step. Turn it off if you want to approve each one by hand.
Yotpo: two keys
In Idukki, open Settings, then the Yotpo tab under Integrations. Paste the app key and the secret key and click Connect. Idukki checks them with Yotpo before saving. The secret is stored sealed and never shown again.
Okendo: one Store ID
Open the Okendo tab, paste your Store ID and click Connect. Okendo needs no secret, because Idukki reads the reviews Okendo already shows on your store.
Loox: a CSV export
Loox has no connection to read from. Export all reviews to a CSV in Loox. Then click Choose CSV file in the Loox tab. Files over 6 MB are refused, so split a big export into parts.
How to check it worked
| Check | What good looks like |
|---|---|
| The tab | A line such as “12 reviews imported. 9 tagged to a product.” |
| Posts | Review posts with their stars, tagged to products. |
| A product page | Its review photos in the gallery, if auto-publish is on. |
| A second import | No duplicates. Deleted reviews do not come back. |
If a review is not tagged, its product did not match. Check the product id, SKU or handle in Idukki against your store.
The first week after the import
- 1Day 1: import, then open your ten best sellers and check each has photos.
- 2Day 2: fix untagged reviews by tagging their products by hand.
- 3Day 3: pick a gallery layout for product pages and place it near the buy button.
- 4Day 5: hide any photo that shows the wrong colour or an old package.
- 5Day 7: compare product clicks from the gallery with the week before.
What stays the same
- Your reviews app keeps collecting and moderating reviews.
- Its stars widget can stay on the page for the review text.
- No email goes to reviewers. The import only reads reviews.
- Hidden or unpublished reviews in your app are not imported.
Questions store owners ask
Do I have to leave Yotpo, Okendo or Loox?
No. Your reviews app keeps running. The import reads its reviews and turns the ones with media into posts.
How often do new reviews arrive?
Yotpo and Okendo sync daily, and you can click Import now. Loox updates when you upload a newer export.
Will imported reviews show twice on a page?
The photos can show in both widgets. Many stores keep the stars widget for text and the gallery for photos.
What about Judge.me reviews?
Judge.me has its own connection in Idukki. This guide covers Yotpo, Okendo and Loox.
Is review import on my account?
It is in early access. Ask us and we switch on the sources you use.
