Yotpo Alternative: Shoppable Video and UGC Without the Module Stack

Last updated

Yotpo has narrowed hard. It sunset Subscriptions in May 2025 and shut down its Email and SMS products on 31 December 2025 (the SMS customer base went to Attentive), leaving Reviews, Visual UGC and Loyalty. Each of those is still billed separately, with order-volume caps and overage.

Idukki is one platform on one bill: UGC galleries, shoppable video with product tagging and one-click checkout, reviews display and rights management, billed simply per impression, on a 79 KB widget runtime, across Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and Wix.

Why brands switch

One bill, not three

Reviews, Visual UGC and Loyalty are separate Yotpo products with separate fees and order-volume caps. Idukki includes UGC, reviews display and visual marketing in a single impression-billed plan, so consolidation is the pricing story, not a discount.

Shoppable video is native

On Idukki, shoppable video is a first-class format: product tagging, direct checkout links, autoplay previews. On Yotpo it sits partially inside Visual UGC rather than as a dedicated product.

No sunset risk

Yotpo customers have absorbed two product shutdowns in a year (Subscriptions, then Email and SMS). Idukki has no product-line sunsets to migrate off: the platform you adopt is the platform that stays.

Where Yotpo still has an edge

Yotpo keeps real advantages: a mature loyalty and referrals product (Idukki does not ship one), recognised enterprise procurement, and a large Shopify Plus installed base for peer references.

  • Mature loyalty + referrals product (we don't ship one)
  • Recognised enterprise procurement workflow + RFP responses (our judgement)
  • Large Shopify-Plus installed base for peer references
  • Yotpo Discover: a dedicated AI-visibility product that tracks how a catalogue surfaces across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews at SKU, category and persona level. We publish an agent-readable feed; Discover reports on what the engines actually say back (checked 1 Sep 2026)
  • Discover ships remediation agents on top of the monitoring: an onsite agent that repairs Product, Offer, Review, AggregateRating and FAQPage schema plus PDP and internal-linking errors, and a content agent that drafts answer-first AEO content. Idukki has no equivalent automated-fix layer (checked 1 Sep 2026)

How we compared

We make Idukki, so read this as one vendor’s view. Every alternatives page answers the same questions about both products:

  • What content it handles: customer photos, video, reviews or all three
  • Where it runs: which store platforms it supports
  • How it clears the rights to use customer content
  • How it is priced, and what it costs to start
  • What it does better than Idukki

Yotpo facts come from Yotpo’s own public pages or public reviews, listed on the full comparison with the date we read them. Nothing here is a score we made up. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we’ll fix it.

Yotpo alternative FAQs

Can I migrate my Yotpo review history to Idukki?

Yes. We support a one-click reviews import from Yotpo (CSV export, then Idukki import), preserving star ratings, photos, video and verified-buyer flags. Migration takes hours, not weeks.

What happened to Yotpo SMS and email?

Yotpo announced in August 2025 that it was exiting email and SMS, and both products shut down on 31 December 2025; the SMS customer base was transitioned to Attentive. Yotpo Subscriptions had already been retired in May 2025. Yotpo now focuses on Reviews, Visual UGC and Loyalty.

Is Idukki cheaper than Yotpo at scale?

Usually, because of how the bills stack. Yotpo’s modular pricing means Reviews and Visual UGC each carry a separate fee with order-volume caps and overage; Idukki includes UGC, reviews display and visual marketing in one impression-billed plan. Model your order volume against both and the consolidation maths is normally clear.

Is there a free way to start with Idukki?

Paid plans come with a 30-day free trial. A Shopify store installs Idukki from the App Store and starts on the Free plan. It covers 20,000 widget impressions a month and needs no credit card. Self-serve setup takes about four minutes. On other platforms, book a demo and we set it up with you.
