About Gokyo
Gokyo makes outdoor clothing and trekking gear in India, sold online at gokyo.in.
The problem
Trekking gear has to prove itself in conditions a studio cannot recreate: a shopper wants to see the jacket, the pack and the layers working on a real mountain.
What they set up
- 1Deployed a shoppable UGC wall of customer trek photos on the storefront.
- 2Added a shop-the-look inspiration gallery and a customer photo carousel on product pages.
- 3Tagged products in each photo so a viewer can move to cart without leaving the gallery.
The results
Proven revenue: ₹35.9K (Orders where the shopper added the product to cart from the widget before buying). Proven orders: 12 (Purchases that followed a widget add-to-cart). Add-to-carts from the widget: 25 (Products added to cart straight from customer content). Cart value from the widget: ₹52.4K (Value of those add-to-carts: buying intent, not revenue).
Why it worked
Outdoor gear is judged on the trail, not on a hanger. Photos of customers wearing the jacket on an actual trek show fit, layering and durability in one frame, and the shop-the-look gallery lets a shopper buy the full kit from the photo.
How it’s measured
- Evidence
- Widget-attributed checkout value
- Method
- Idukki widget analytics. Proven revenue and orders count purchases where the shopper added the product to cart from the widget first. Cart value is the value of widget add-to-carts and is never added to revenue. These are the same definitions the merchant dashboard uses.
- Window
- Lifetime: November 2025 to September 2026 (10 months live)
- Source
- Idukki production analytics, refreshed 2026-10-01
- What it does not prove
- Proven revenue is a floor, not the whole effect: it counts only orders where the shopper added to cart from the widget first. Orders from shoppers who saw the content and bought another way are not in it.
Stack
- Idukki UGC wall
- Shop-the-look gallery
- PDP carousel
