Scan to Shop is in early access: customer photos, on the shop floor

A QR code by the product opens real customers wearing and using it, on the shopper's phone. Eight print formats from your Brand Kit, codes you can repoint, and a report from scan to order. Built, and in early access.

In this article

Scan to Shop is built, and it is in early access. It is not generally available yet. Those are two different sentences, and we would rather you heard both from us.

The idea is small. Your customers' photos and videos already sit on your product pages. The same shopper walks into a shop, picks up the same product and gets none of it. Scan to Shop puts a QR code next to the product; the shopper scans it and sees real customers wearing and using the thing in their hand, then buys it online if the size is not on the rail. The longer argument is in how to bring customer photos onto the shop floor.

What it does

  • Codes for anything. A product, collection, category, label, lookbook or any URL. Each code is a short link you can repoint later, so a discontinued product does not mean a reprint.
  • A page for the aisle. The scan opens a merchant-branded page: your headline and one line of copy, the product with a Buy online button, then a vertical feed of customer photos and videos tagged to it. Or skip it and send the scan to your own product page.
  • Eight print formats. Shelf-talker, hang tag, counter stand, window poster, mirror cling, rail strip, box insert and an A4 sticker sheet, filled from your Brand Kit and exported as a 300 dpi PDF with bleed and crop marks, or as a PNG or SVG of the code. Bulk mode makes one code per product for a whole collection.
  • A report per code. Scans and unique scanners, placement and time of day, what people did on the page, online orders tied back through the Idukki visitor id, and in-store sales on Shopify POS through an optional single-use offer code shown at the till.

What it refuses to do

It will not print a customer photo unless the post has rights approved in Idukki Rights Management, because paper cannot be unpublished. It will not export a code that would print smaller than 20 mm or in colours too low in contrast to scan. And it will not add proven and influenced orders together to make a bigger number; they sit side by side in the report.

Getting in

Early access is by request. If you run a shop, a chain or a wholesale range and want codes on a shelf, request early access. The setup guide is already up for when it lands in your dashboard. No results to report yet. When there are some, they will come with a date and a source.
