QR pack inserts and POS review capture

Beyond email: pack cards, thank-you pages and retail QR codes for reviews and photo uploads. We make Idukki.

The email sat unread. The card in the box did not. She scanned it while the tissue paper was still on the bed. The review took a minute. The parcel was still open.

Email still matters. Pack and store asks catch buyers who never open it. They also catch gift recipients who never saw the order confirmation.

We make Idukki. The upload page from email can sit behind a QR on a card or receipt.

Beyond email: three places the ask works

  • Pack insert. Card or belly band in the box at unboxing.
  • Thank-you page and order status. On-screen for digital-first buyers.
  • Retail POS. Receipt, counter card or fitting-room mirror sticker.

Each place needs its own short line. “Scan to review your order” beats a paragraph about your brand story.

  • One QR per card. Do not add Instagram and a review code side by side.
  • Point apparel cards at a photo upload. Point service cards at a star form if that is the job.
  • Skip discounts that require a five-star rating. Ask for any honest review.

Thank-you page and order status

The thank-you page is early for a fair product review. Use it for a soft “we will ask later” note, or for digital goods.

Order-status pages work better after delivery. Add a button when the status is delivered. Same destination as the pack QR when you can.

Retail QR and POS capture

In store, the ask sits next to the purchase. Keep it optional and quick.

For Google review URLs, use the free review link generator. It builds a write-a-review link and a printable QR in the browser.

  1. 1Pick one destination per campaign: review form, photo upload or Google review.
  2. 2Use a short, stable URL. Avoid expiring UTM-only redirects on print.
  3. 3Scan on iOS and Android. Confirm HTTPS and no app-store dead ends.
  4. 4Log which batch used which URL so you can retire old cards.
  5. 5Keep email asks on the same destination when the job matches.

Pack inserts outlive email templates. A broken QR from last season still sits in drawers.

What the shopper sees vs what you must plan

What everyone sees

A card with a QR

What goes in the box

What you set up once

What you actually build and maintain

  1. Destination page

Mobile upload or review form that works offline-ish on bad signal.

  2. Product context

Order id, SKU or a picker so the photo lands on the right PDP.

  3. Moderation

Who approves media before it goes live.

  4. Print versioning

Which URL batch is in which warehouse.

The card is simple. The ops underneath are not.

Questions store owners ask

  • Should the pack QR go to Instagram?

Not if you want a review. Send it to a review or upload page. Social can be a second card later.

  • When is a thank-you page ask too early?

For physical products, usually right after payment. Prefer delivered status or the pack card.

  • Can one QR serve Google and my site?

Use two codes if you need both. One code with two jobs confuses people.

  • What size should the QR be?

Large enough to scan under soft light. Test at 2.5 cm wide or bigger on the final stock.
