# The Shopify app stack for fashion brands in 2026

Eleven apps for six fashion jobs, from size charts to returns. What Shopify does free, what each bill counts, and what to watch.

By Rohin Aggarwal · 2026-10-12

A fashion return usually starts weeks earlier, with a photo that lied about fit. The shopper guessed a size, guessed wrong and sent it back. Fashion stores also convert below the Shopify median. The best apps answer one question before the order. Will this fit me, and look good on me?

**Quick answer**

- **Fit first.** A size chart or recommender on every product page. Kiwi or ESC Size Charts.
- **Real bodies next.** Customer photos and video near the size picker. Idukki (ours) or Loox.
- **Returns:** Shopify has free self-serve returns. Shoppers cannot request exchanges in it. Loop and AfterShip add that.
- **Keep demand:** back-in-stock alerts and wishlists for sold-out sizes.
- Facts from each listing, vendor pages and Shopify's Help Center, checked 12 October 2026.

Littledata measured 426 Shopify stores between July and October 2026. The median fashion store converted 1.3% of sessions. The median for all stores was 1.4%, and beauty reached 2.8%. Fashion shoppers hesitate on fit and look. Every app below answers one of those doubts, or catches the sale a doubt cost you.

## How we picked them

- **One fashion job each.** Fit, photos, returns, restocks, wishlists, email.
- **Shopify first.** Where Shopify does the job free, we say so.
- **Official listing,** with a free plan or trial stated.
- **The meter named.** Charts, orders, returns, alerts, actions or your Shopify plan.

Prices are left out. For most apps here, the listing and the vendor's site showed different tables. Open the live listing before you decide. We make Idukki, one of the eleven, and say so where it appears.

## Size and fit: answer the question before the order

A size chart on every product page is the cheapest return prevention you can buy. Put it next to the size picker. Use your own measurements, taken from the garment. A generic chart copied from a supplier causes the returns you wanted to stop.

### Kiwi Size Chart & Recommender

Kiwi builds size charts and adds a size recommender that suggests a size. Its free plan shows a Kiwi watermark and caps the number of charts. Higher tiers add charges based on order volume, on top of the tier fee. Check those terms on the listing before you upgrade.

### ESC Size Charts

ESC Size Charts, from Eastside Co, does charts and guides only, without a recommender. The free plan allows up to three charts with an ESC watermark. Premium is a flat monthly fee for unlimited charts and import. Another app uses a similar name, so install from the Eastside Co listing.

## Customer photos: show the clothes on real people

A studio shot shows a garment on a model. A customer photo shows it on someone like the shopper. Put customer photos near the size picker. Add height and size to the caption when the customer gave them. That answers fit and look in one glance.

### Idukki (ours)

We make Idukki, so weigh this accordingly. It collects customer posts from Instagram, TikTok and other social sources. It imports reviews from Google, Trustpilot, TripAdvisor and Judge.me. It shows them as shoppable galleries and video. Each product in a photo is tagged to the cart. Rights are recorded per post. The free plan covers image galleries. Shoppable video starts on the $45 plan.

### Loox

Loox collects photo reviews after each order and shows them in polished galleries. Its free plan lasts until 500 orders in total. Video reviews and syndication need its paid plan, billed by orders. See [Judge.me vs Loox vs Okendo](/blog/judge-me-vs-loox-vs-okendo-2026) for the full review-app comparison.

**The same product page, two ways**
Studio only:
- One model, one size
- A size chart from the supplier
- Text reviews below the fold
With fit and real photos:
- Your own measurements beside the size picker
- Customer photos with height and size
- Tagged products in each photo
_A layout sketch. Nothing here was measured._

## Returns and exchanges: keep the sale

An exchange keeps the revenue. A refund loses it. Make the exchange the easier path. Shopify's free self-serve returns let customers request returns from their account. Customers cannot request an exchange there. You can add exchange items by hand when you approve a return. Self-serve returns need the new customer accounts.

### Loop Returns & Exchanges

Loop handles returns and exchanges, with tracking and order editing. The listing shows a free plan. Paid tiers add automated policies, carrier rate shopping and workflows. Instant exchange and fraud prevention sit on a higher tier. The listing says recurring and usage-based charges are billed every 30 days.

### AfterShip Returns & Exchanges

AfterShip Returns, formerly Returns Center, covers returns, exchanges and store credit. It has a free tier and a trial. Paid plans include a set number of returns a month and charge per return above it. Its listing pages showed different price tables when we checked, so confirm the live one.

## Back in stock: catch the sold-out size

A sold-out size is a shopper ready to buy. Offer an alert on every out-of-stock variant. Send it the day stock lands. Shoppers tend to forget within a week or two.

### Appikon Back In Stock

Appikon sends back-in-stock alerts by email and SMS. The free plan covers 10 emails a month, which suits testing only. Klaviyo and Mailchimp sync come on paid tiers. SMS adds a per-message fee. Another app called "Notify Me!" is a different developer, so check the listing name.

### Swym Back in Stock Alerts

Swym's alerts app has no free plan and a 30-day trial. Tiers are set by alert requests a month. Klaviyo and Omnisend connect on the entry tier. Multi-location inventory support is on the top tier only.

## Wishlists: remember what they wanted

Fashion shoppers browse for days before they buy. A wishlist keeps their picks and gives you a reason to email. Price drops and restocks on saved items make the best reminders.

### Swym Wishlist Plus

Swym Wishlist Plus saves items, sends reminders and adds price-drop and stock alerts on higher tiers. Plans are set by wishlist actions a month. Swym's own pricing notes say alerts sent through your email tool count toward the limit. Its free plan and entry price differed between pages, so check the live listing.

### Swish (formerly Wishlist King)

Swish has no free plan and a 30-day trial. Its price follows your Shopify plan, from Basic to Plus. Every feature comes on every tier. That makes the bill easy to predict.

## Email: the second chance

Your email app turns wishlist saves, restock alerts and browsing into sales. Build four flows first: welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment and post-purchase. Klaviyo and Omnisend both have free plans for small lists. We compare them in [Klaviyo vs Omnisend](/blog/klaviyo-vs-omnisend-for-shopify-2026).

## Where to start

1. **Measure your garments** and add a size chart to every product.
2. **Add customer photos** near the size picker, with height and size.
3. **Turn on Shopify self-serve returns.** Add an exchange app when exchanges matter.
4. **Add back-in-stock alerts** to every sold-out variant.
5. **Add a wishlist** once your email flows are live.

**The takeaway:** Fix fit first: real measurements and real bodies on the product page. Then make exchanges easier than refunds. Restock alerts and wishlists catch the sales fit doubts delayed.
